Facing the Giants - see the movie!

I just got home from seeing the film, Facing the Giants. A friend treated my wife and I on a spontaneous date to the movies. A few days ago my friend sent out an email to call believers to action, to support a Christ-centered film that is plainly a great movie, great story and must see for anyone. I was very impressed with the story of real people facing the impossible, and the fact that God works in the lives of men, woman and children. This film shows how christians pray using the promises of God and the blessing of trusting God while moving foward against all obstacles.

If Napoleon Dynamite was such a big hit in our main stream culture there is no reason why Facing the Giants shouldn’t be a huge success in our sub-culture of a post-christian nation. Perhaps this film will inspire church goers to give God the glory in everyday life. The movie clearly illustrates how God is working on behalf of His children to bless them and show His strengh in our weakness. Great job ‘Facing the Giants’ cast and crew!

I really hope you get to see this film. As a result of this film, I think more believers will put their trust in God to do battle with fear and failure. The message is clear and true, “with God all things are possible!”

Here is the message that encouraged me to see the film:

Until yesterday afternoon, I hadn’t even heard of the movie “Fighting The Giants”.  My wife called and said she had heard about it from a friend, and wanted to see it, so last night we went to the movies, and took 11 year old (who thought it was a great movie). My wife commented that she hasn’t cried so much at a movie in a long time, I always do, so it’s normal for me.

This has to be one of the best movies I have seen and very, very clearly shows the gospel of Jesus Christ as experienced in a Christian school setting. There’s football, family stuff, reconcilliation in relationships, miracles you just gotta see it.  To see a movie with such a tremendous message on the big screen is amazing.  It would be great to tell the movie industry how much we appreciate this type and quality of movie, by going to see it.

“Facing The Giants” has been in the theaters for nearly three weeks, if what I overheard from another conversation is true.  If that is so, it wasn’t advertised well, …. or I was sleeping for the last few weeks.  There were only a few people in the theater when we were there, and the movie was showing at only 2 time slots for the day in a small theater, with another movie sharing that particular theater.  This is at AMC where there are 30 theaters.  That tells me it may not be in the theaters for more than a few more days.  I think there are many in our world who woould prefer that we don’t see movies like this, because of the message(s) it presents.

I highly recommend that you see this movie in the next few days if possible, and get the word out to others who appreciate good wholesome movies with a dynamic message.  Take the kids, the teenagers, adults, grandma and grandpa.

Check it out.  You won’t be sorry.

I really want to see this movie! It looks like such a blessing for believers and non-believers. Combining the sport of football with the teachings of Christ is really just amazing. I haven’t seen the movie but I think if we help to get the word out it could really be used a great tool to bring people to Christ. God Bless You All!
